This morning I woke up like I usually do, but something was different.
I couldn’t explain it, but inside of me I knew that today was the day that I had to commit to a new path in my life. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that my 34th birthday is coming up. Perhaps it could be attributed to the fact that after a grueling traveling, speaking, strategizing and coaching schedule I found myself feeling less than elated about the current state of my life.
Now, it’s not like I wake up every morning singing: The hills are alive! Isn’t it great to be me!?! BUT, I DO wake up with gratitude in my heart and fresh ideas in my mind. I DO wake up with full awareness of the beautiful life that I live and the gift that it is to share it with others. This morning, however, the thought that announced itself firmly in my mind was: NOPE. It’s time for Different. It was this lack of enthusiasm upon waking that woke me up.
As someone who specializes in helping people transform their lives, businesses and communities, I find it quite ironic and exciting that I am openly taking myself on as a client. Polishing the precious gem that is my life will not only help me serve at the deepest level but it will also help others reconnect with the choices they are making. This wake up call for me is about making a major shift in my life at the level of thought and action. While it feels daunting at the moment, I know I am up for the task, and I know you are as well.
During the BurnBright Awaken tour, I speak about the four stages that we all go through on the path of reaching our full potential. The 4 stages mirror what Joseph Campbell writes about in the hero’s journey. The four stage are Intention, Invitation, Initiation, Illumination. I believe that this morning was an invitation to transform. As I consciously enter into the initiation stage, I am inviting you to come along with me!
Here’s how to create your very own #60DAYS to Different Challenge.
1. Take time to get fully present to the current state of your life, then ask yourself: what needs to change?
2. Write it down on a piece of paper.
3. Select a day to report the progress you are making with a post, a photo, a tweet…whatever feels right for you. You can share daily or weekly. It’s really up to you.
4. State your commitment! Here’s mine:
Over the next 60 days and beyond, I will enhance the quality of my life by being a conscious steward of my time and mind.
REMEMBER TO ENJOY THE JOURNEY!
My #60DAYS to Different will start today and end May 19th. I will be sharing mine on FB, Twitter and Instagram and Pinterest. #60DAYS
